Are You Homeless in Nashville?

I might be able to help. I am a homeless outreach specialist and national trainer of outreach workers. I have been on the streets of Nashville for the past two years and have access to a host of services and information that may be of use to you if you are homeless or about to become homeless.

This blog will help you identify where I might be at, what I might be able to do for you, what services may be available to you here in Nashville and where you can find the important stuff to get you through your days and nights on the streets of this city.

The information on this page is only a partial listing of the services and resources available to individuals experiencing homelessness. New services and resources are becoming available in 2009 so please don't get discouraged if you don't see what you're looking for here. It may very well be available but simply not listed yet here.

Finding Me On The Street

Important Update 1/24/2011: Due to the work I now perform, I no longer update this site because I cannot remain current in the available services in and around Nashville.  I am still involved with assisting the homeless and the poor, and can still provide pretty solid information to folks, but because I'm not on the streets here full time I don't want to provide anyone with erroneous information.  My contact numbers are the same and you can still reach me through this website.

A number of changes have occurred since I first stepped foot on the streets and alleys of Nashville several years ago.

I am still found downtown but am now both riding a bicycle and walking the area within the inner freeway loop. I am also regularly in East Nashville and continue to spend time at the Community Care Fellowship, the Downtown Presbyterian, Holy Name Church, Riverfront & Centennial Park as well. I can sometimes be found in the West End area,  Hadley Park, Hermitage, Donelson, and at times, even up in Madison.

(Note: Although I try to make stops as regularly as possible, I am often found wandering aimlessly around the greater downtown area. Like the people I serve, there is no permanency to my routes and while I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause others, some folks simply don't want to go where other people are. As such, I must instead go to them....)
